Monday Feb 8th, 2010

Sounds like you had a pretty nice little trip to Arizona, i´m very jealous! Scott and Mels new house sounds really nice! I`m still thinking about the dentistry route when I get home. I think I`ve developed the study skills here in the mission to not fail classes anymore :) I should have never gone to school before the mission I`ve decided. We´ve had a pretty productive week this week. I don´t kow if i told you or not but me and Mendoza were real tired one night very far away from the pench when we decided we´d go knock one more door. There were like 3 wild dogs guarding it but for some reason we pressed on and knocked the door. We were let in and started teaching a great family of 7! It was a little weird teaching that many people at one time! Anyways that was about 3 weeks ago and Saturday all five of the Tobares children are going to be baptised! Benjamin-16, Ivan-15, Sebastian-13, Bryan-11, and Fernando-10. They are the sweetest kids and havejust amazed me with their desire to learn about God, and Christ, and the Church. Their so much better inteligent kids than I was when i was their age. I couldn´t have gave half a crap and these kids are just amazing. I love them so much and I´m so excited for Saturday. Elder Williams is pretty excited too, it´s going to be his first baptism. the parents have some issues they have to work out and hopefully sometime soon they can be baptised. We have put to use our cowboy hats this week and have saved our faces from the sunburn. We get whistled at quite a bit from the girls down here, they dig em´:) hehe. I´ll send you some pictures of them we took a few this week as we were walking out in the country on the way to an appointment. I just have to tell you mom how really led this missionary work is. We´ve had two experiences this week where we´ve walked and walked and walked seemlessley for hours in the sun and end up feeling an urge from the spirit to knock on a door. We´ve followed our promptings both times and have had the door opened with people who have fallen away from the church, who needed nothing more than a visit from the missionaries to get them back. Twice this week. It´s amazing sometimes. Anyways E´Williams is still fightin the nasty blistered feet but I´m trying to do somethings to keep him happy. We had a big long 10-12 mile long day yesterday and i took him out for ice cream, we sat in the big town plaza and had a good time for 20 minutes. It was well deserved, anyways I hope all is well at home. Thankyou for emailing me and making me feel loved. Your in my prayers every night. Peace and Love Boats Baby.

Feb 1 2010 Pictures

Hello every one this is Elder Campbell checking in. I´m in my second area General Alvear and thought I´d send you some pictures of my last few weeks. I haven´t heard from some of you in a while but I know you have to remember who i am in some shape or form :)

This is me and my son Elder Williams (we call our trainee´s our sons). Making fun of the Argentine ciesta in the biggest street here (this is like the I-15 here). As you can see its completely empty because they take nap time here from 1-5. Lazy bums!!!!.... that we love :)

Striking a pose in the middle of Main Street. The monument in the background is not that of a hawk or eagle, but of a vulture. (Doesn´t get more courageous than a vulture right?)

Lunch in Alvear at the all you can eat pizza place (cost us about 6 american dollars)

Nice shot of the Pizza with your usual ham and pineapple, they threw on a cherry for good measure.

Feb. 1st 2010

Hola mama como esta? Estamos bien aca en Alvear. Mi nuevito esta bien, el es un misionero muy muy bueno. Somos muy similar, y vamos a ser gran amigos en la vida despues la mission, es seguro eso! Hey mom whats up? We´re all good here in Alvear. My newbie is good, he´´s a great missionary. We´re a lot a like, and I see us being great friends in the life after the mission, for sure!

A little free translator there! Haha. It´s been a very big load of responsibility i´ve been given to be a senor comp and training! Especially in an area that i´ve only been in for 3 weeks. But overall I feel like i´ve made the tough transition and we´re just out workin now. It´s sure been different being the only one talking and making sure i listen to every little thing that is being said because Elder Williams doesn´t pick up a lot, (nor does anyone in the their first transfer here) He´s actually doing really wéll with his spanish and I think he miiight be ready for a latin companion but we´ll have to see. The progress i´ve made in spanish has really taken off for me. I couldn´t really really see it untill i realized that i´m understanding and teaching everything basically. The gift of tounges is real, I am such a witness. There are the tough days here and there are the blessed days just like any other time of the mission. I´m trying to help E Williams really learn how the mission works. How to be sucessful, to think outside the box to find people. More than anything i´m teaching how to bandage up those ripped up feet he´s got. ( Poor guy i remember like it was... an hour ago it feels like) I´m thankful for my inch thick calices that i have aquired! We have to all pay a lot of pain for them :)
Sounds like the weather is groggy groggy Feburary like normal. I don´t miss Feb weather at home. It´s getting to the point where the cold is so old and you just want to see the sun again. No worries the sun s still there. And it´s over here in the Southern Hemisphere burning me up! We got it approved from president to buy hats to protect us from the sun. THEIR SO SWEET. We´re like Indiana Jones missionaries now, i love it :) haha. I´ve got some pics but none with us in shirts and ties with them on. (I´ll work on taking some)
I can´t believe Karly is almost 8. So crazy to me, it is crazy to me i remember the pre baptism class we had to go to. Like i honestly remember that. Thank you for the emails every week they keep me going. I love you all so much

PS- I got the card with the memory cards taped to the picture but haven´t gotten the other yet. Should we be worried?
