Sept 13 2010

Hi mom. I just wanted to tell you first of all that I love you. We go out and we teach, and we bring the spirit, and we work, and we work and put in our 110% but when it comes down to it the investigator has to choose to read the book of mormon, to pray about it, to come to church, and to eventually be baptised. As missionaries we can have solice in knowing that we put in everything we have and we give that person the very best chance to succeed in making that decision to join the church. But in the end, a lot, almost half don´t do their part. It´s hard for me, IT HURTS, I pray and ask why they don´t make it when I´m doing everything i can to help them. Thats when the Lord humbles me, and reminds me that every person who is on this earth has their own agency. Their decision to choose immortality and eternal life, or to die in their carnal nature. And it´s the same in every faucet of life. Just a short catch up on me.. I¨m going to be leaving Valle de Uco wednesday to go to a different state! I´m going to the city of San Juan up north to an area called Los Pinos (or ´The Pines´). So that´s my new assignment, i´m excited. I´ll be in a zone with a lot of old friends. Elder Frischknecht is actually the zone leader there, so i´ll be back with him. Also i´ll be in the district of an elder that just left my zone, a great kid named Elder George. Should be really fun, i´m looking forward to it. You´ll have to read up on the net about San Juan, it´s a really really hot area. Summers get upwards twoard 120 degrees. I´m kind of sad to leave Cordon because we are supposed to baptise 2 that i won´t get to see. But thats ok, the importance is not me but of those two awesome people we found. I love you mom. Just know that, I´m praying daily, know that. I know the Lord works in mysterious ways, but it´s to strengthen us.
Me and two Elders in Mendoza, we stayed over night for our meetings there. The pench there is known as the worst in the mission. It´s been named ´The Black Pearl´ after the pirate ship on Pirates of the Carribean. They made costumes to go with their pench. Us missionaries are creative :) These two elders are from Chile and Panama, respectively

Me and the Japaz family. We took this picture last night, their a great member family that always gives us lunch on sunday!
Baptism of Johanna Pintos. An investigator we have worked with for a long long time, we got he husband re activated and she picked up the book of mormon and started reading. Needless to say before she finished she asked that we teach her, and he she is in white. She´s only 19 years old, crazy right?!

Familia! So saddened to hear about Blaine Pearson. Such a great man, always a great example of a worthy member of the church, that really loved his kids and a passion for soccer. I´ll always remember the memories of playing for him, and his classes during my years in young mens. He´ll be missed but will always be in our hearts, he´s with out a doubt on the other side of the veil preaching the everlasting gospel to those in need. Tell their family that I love them and that they are in my prayers. I´d really like ben´s address, i´m going to write an email now to what it should be, it´s usually just our names. Hit me like a bag of bricks. He was a really good guy. If there is anything I can do for their family let me know.

It´s been a really quick week, i can´t believe how fast time flies. We´re already coming to the end of my 9th transfer. To think i´ll be starting my 10th is scary.... knowing there are 16 in total. Seems like the other day i was walking around with a pounding headache because i couldn´t understand this language, and now i have a hard time remembering english words! I treated myself this week and bought a soccer ball for about 25 bucks. A real nice one that should last for at least 6-8 months. (we play every monday on concrete so keeping the ball nice is a task) but i bought one specificly made for the concrete. We bought one as a zone a few weeks back for like 60 pesos and two weeks later... popped. So i thought i´d buy one that´ll last. We had a great experience this week finding a family. We left a charge to the District President to find a family for us to teach about 3 weeks ago. He called us on tuesday and said he had a family that he met, and they asked if we could pass by their house. We went with Brother Fredes to their house way out in the country in the middle of a peach field to their humble home. There we met Eduardo and Virginia. Two amazing people, in our first lesson we felt the spirit really strong. After we left i felt like i wanted to ask them if they felt differently with us at their house. He got watered up and just said ¨Son hombres puro´s, y nos escuchan. Sentió algo differente, como un fuego en mí pecho.´´ In english ´´ Your pure men, and you listen to us. I felt something different tonight, almost like a fire in my chest.´´ They came to church Sunday, and want to get baptised in the coming weeks. Just the coolest people though! Came to church in shirt and tie and everything! The only shirt and tie that he has haha! There truely are people out there waiting for us. People that you´d never know even existed from where they live. Anyways, the uintah´s bring back memories. Can´t wait to go up and fish, and four wheel up there. So fun! Tell the family hi for me, i sure miss you all and love you all. Anyways love you all! Nathan emailed me and has lost 60 pounds in Rosario! And Austin Bennion is a new zone leader in Hungry! Go Ogden Boys!

August 30th

Crazy to think Kennadie turned 9 already! More crazy because i remember like yesterday when i got emails from everyone telling me about her baptism.... yeah a year ago! We had a really great week. The Mission Mendoza had a record August, we had 125 baptisms! This new program from the apostles that we are putting into practice has changed everything mom. Truely sent from the Lord at this time. We´re focusing on the spirit more, and relying on his promptings in everything we do. In every part of the work. Our lessons are filled with the spirit, people just feel it and it´s amazing. We had a great little baptism saturday. One that (as always) had it´s little hicup. Satan didn´t want this beautiful little girl to get baptised! The water in all of Cordon del Plata went out right when we were half way done filling the font. To the whole city..... apparently the pump that pumps the water up from underground broke, when that happens.... goodbye water for at least 4 days. We prayed and prayed, and went outside to see the dried up river bed outside of the chapel that is usually empty running with water. Elder Mitchell and I took buckets and for 3 hours filled the font bucket after bucket. We were exhausted, but knew the lord had blessed us for being patient. The water wasn´t the cleanest haha, but that doesn´t matter. The baptism was great. More than anything in the world i want to see this Murillo family go to the temple before i go home. They´re great, i love them. Eliana is the little girl in they´re family that got baptised. Really neat day. Today we´re off to Mendoza for leadership coucil. I´m hoping we´ll see a very happy President for the record we broke this month. We still have 2 weeks left in the transfer, but I think I´m ready to start a new area. I loved the pictures, I miss little league football. I´m going to help out when i get home without a doubt. Coaching is my passion. I´d love to make it my profession but it´s a type of job that i don´t think would allow me to live how i want to live, or stay in a steady place like Ogden for long periods of time. My ultimate goal is to make a lot of money and be able to retire early and go into coaching. Wouldn´t it be nice?! Haha, I´m lovin Karly´s cheer socks. Tell Carter to keep battling. Every play the hardest he can and he´ll never regret any game no matter the score!
